Metro

One line, 10 stations, running roughly 6:30 AM–11:00 PM. Flat fare of 150 AMD per ride, paid by QR code, contactless bank card, or a Telcell transport card. Multi-ride options: a 180-minute ticket (up to 3 rides) for 300 AMD, a day pass for 900 AMD, and a 7-day pass for 5,000 AMD.

Buses & marshrutkas

City buses share the same flat 150 AMD fare as the metro. Intercity marshrutkas (minibuses) to towns outside Yerevan are a separate system, paid in cash to the driver — typically 1,000–4,000 AMD depending on distance.

Taxis

Yandex Go and GG (GG Taxi) are the two apps everyone actually uses in Yerevan — fixed upfront pricing, cash or card. Prefer booking through an app over flagging a street taxi: drivers waiting outside tourist spots and the airport commonly quote several times the app price.

From Zvartnots Airport

An app-based taxi (Yandex/GG) into central Yerevan typically runs 2,500–5,000 AMD depending on the exact destination and traffic. Street taxis outside the terminal often ask 6,000–10,000 AMD for the same ride — book through the app instead. There's also a 500 AMD airport bus.

Car rental & walking

Rentals start around $25/day and are mainly useful for day trips to monasteries or mountain regions outside the city — you won't need one inside Yerevan itself. Central Yerevan (Kentron) is compact and very walkable; outlying districts are better reached by metro, bus or taxi.
